with Ilaria of Un Due Tre Ilaria blog that I drove to
Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer to visit the store Trait d'Union.
Trait
d'Union was founded not even two years ago by Delphine Mathieu. To
open her store she found a great place in the center of Saint
Cyr-sur-Mer just opposite City Hall. This concept store has been
decorated like a home, especially on the first floor
where you find a kitchen and living room on one side of the landing
and a bedroom and nursery on the other. And everywhere you look, are interior-treasures to be discovered.

avec Ilaria du blog Un Due Tre Ilaria que je suis allée à
Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer pour visiter la boutique Trait d'Union.
Trait d'Union a été crée par Delphine Mathieu il n'y a même pas deux ans. Pour ouvrir un magasin elle a trouvé un très joli lieu dans le centre de Saint Cyr-sur-Mer, en face de la Mairie. Ce concept store a été décoré comme une maison, en particulier sur le premier étage où on trouve comme un salon et cuisine d'un côté du palier et une chambre de bébé et une chambre d'adulte de l'autre. Et partout où on se tourne il y a des trésors pour l'intérieur à découvrir.

Delphine
told us that before she managed the shop, she loved going to
second-hand stores and antiquity places to buy objects or furniture and
give them a second life. Luckily there are still some of these items
in the store. There was this lovely old dresser she repainted, just
waiting to be delivered to a customer. And next to the old buffet she
uses as cashiers-desk, we saw this sweet little school-chair of which
she had refurnished the seating.
She once found an old office-stool she put aside to work on and maybe not even sell, when a client, a tourist, insisted on buying it. Delphine told her it was not for sale and so when this lady stated she would not leave the store without the stool Delphine just invented a crazy price to dissuade her. The client payed the price!
Trait d'Union does not have a one specific style, there is something for everyone. If you visit, take the time to look at all the different styled corners to discover the wide range of differents objects. The large collection of Rice objects brings a great touch of color and the beautiful products of Petit Pan on the other hand add some softness.

nous racontait qu'avant d'avoir la boutique ça lui arrivait souvent de chiner des meubles et des objets pour les relooker et
heureusement il y a encore de ses créations en boutique. Il y avait
par exemple un ancien vaisselier repeint qui attendait
d'être livré chez un client. Et juste devant l('ancien)
meuble-caisse, une jolie chaise d'école dont elle avait
refait l'assise.
Une fois, elle
a trouvé un tabouret de bureau qu'elle voulait
refaire ou peut être même pas vendre. Il y a eu un client, une
touriste, qui le voulait absolument. Elle a fait savoir
qu'elle ne partirait pas sans et quand Delphine a osé mettre un prix
un peu farfelu en pensant que ça la dissuaderait, la touriste est
quand même parti avec.
On ne peut pas définir l'intérieur de cette boutique avec un style très précise, il y en a pour tous les goûts. Il faut prendre le temps de regarder attentivement tout les différents coins stylés pour découvrir une grande variation d'objets. La grande collection de la marque Rice ajoute une belle note de couleur et les jolies choses de Petit Pan ajoutent beaucoup de douceur.

As Delphine tells us about her work and her store, you feel the passion she has for interior design. She choses most of
the products intuitively and with her personal preferences, for example the chandelier of wooden beads which is absolutely one of her favorites
In under two years
existance Trait d'Union managed to build a real reputation. This is
also due to the winning of the trophy La Nuit de La Déco last winter
2014. Delphine loves the idea behind this event and will most likely
compete again in November of this year. We can only recommend you to go
to this nocturnal interior event, but you might not want to wait
untill then to see this great shop!
Quand
Delphine parle de son parcours et de sa boutique on ressent bien
l'enthousiasme qu'elle a pour la décoration. Elle choisi beaucoup de produits à vendre avec intuition et guidé pas son goût personnel, par
exemple le lustre en perles de bois qui est un des ces préférés.
En
même pas deux ans Trait d'Union a su se faire une belle réputation.
Ceci entre autres en gagnant la Trophée de La Nuit de La Déco
de l'hiver 2014. Delphine a beaucoup aimé cette initiative et pense
participer de nouveau au mois de novembre de cette année. Ne rater
pas ça surtout, mais nous vous conseillons de ne pas attendre
jusqu'à là pour aller voir sa jolie boutique !
